Case Study of Duplicator Installation

(1) Production line (Major car navigation system manufacturer)

With the spread of car navigation systems, car navigation system manufacturers are introducing YEC's duplicators to improve their productivity. Our duplicators are used not only for new production but also for regular map updating for existing products already in use.
Hard disks used for car navigation systems are industry standard 2.5-inch; however, special brackets tailored to each manufacturer are attached to install to their car navigation systems. YEC develops attaching and removing tools customized for each manufacturer's bracket specifications resulting in better productivity, and earns the trust from manufacturers by providing high value-added services.

(2) Inspection device (Major PC manufacturer)

In every industry, manufacturers try to improve production efficiency and customer satisfaction by minimizing the defective product rate. A major PC manufacturer shown in the photo established strict inspection criteria and conducts quality control. Hard disk inspection is critical, and they were planning to improve their inspections. To achieve their goal of quality improvement, we developed and introduced inspection devices covering all important inspection items according to their requirements and special tools to attach and remove hard disks to improve work efficiency. Our devices are contributing to lower PC failure rates.
Similar devices of ours are also contributing to quality improvements for many manufacturers who manufacture hard disk installed products including surveillance cameras and Karaoke machines in addition to PCs.

(3) PC maintenance support (Major PC maintenance company)

Quick troubleshooting is essential for a maintenance company. To satisfy their requirements, we provided their every local office nationwide, with our compact and light weight duplicators which can be easily transported on-site, and they are using our duplicators for daily on-site work.
As a result, the duplicators were highly regarded for their strong effect on reducing man-hours such as shortening work time and improving efficiency.
The introduction of our products contributes not only to reduced man-hours but also to customer satisfaction improvement by enhancing on-site customer support. Important data stored on a PC which cannot boot due to a power supply problem, for example, can be backed up quickly on-site. Or, when replacing a hard disk, data in the old hard disk can be deleted in front of the customer. No worries over information leaks, secure disposal, etc.
Our reliable duplicators used on PC manufacturer production lines can be used securely by maintenance engineers.

(4) Data distribution business (Major movie distributor)

In the past, visual movie data was distributed to movie theaters on film, but the filmless movement is growing globally today as high density video information capacity progresses, with hard disks used as the storage media in recent years (digital cinema). Simply put, movies are stored in hard disks and distributed to each local movie theater nationwide.
De facto standard hard disks used in digital cinema use a CRU-DataPort interface. We developed a duplicator compatible with the CRU-DataPort proprietary interface in order to meet the demand for better work efficiency by movie distributors. Many movie distributors in Japan, U.S. and other countries. are using our products.
We also developed a special tool for Chinese distributors who use their own proprietary interface different from CRU-DataPort, and iVDR (*) standard compatible tools. We continue developing devices based on user requirements.
